Intrepid Potash Q3 income falls 160% despite increasing sales volumes

While Intrepid Potash is keen to suggest that its business is resilient to US freighting congestion, a significant swing to a net loss was reported for Q3 2014, on the back of increased operating costs caused by scheduled maintenance and outages caused by strong rainfall in New Mexico, US.

Intrepid Potash Inc., the US fertiliser producer, recorded a loss of $1.24m for Q3 2014, in a 161% year-on-year (y-o-y) fall in profits from the $2.03m income recorded in the equivalent 2013 period.
