Solvay suspends fluorspar production at Okorusu in Namibia

The Belgian producer has cited depletion of the resources and high running costs as reasons for the shutdown of operations at its fluorspar deposits in Namibia. These are market conditions that will affect all producers.

Belgian chemical producer Solvay has suspended production at its mining operations at the Okorusu fluorspar mine in Namibia, because production is no "longer economical at the present sluggish market conditions".
