Vesuvius retains earning outlook in Q3; Alevo to build energy storage battery plant in US, Sumitomo Corp. starts test production of rare earths in Kazakhstan
On this week's IMTV, British refractories manufacturer Vesuvius shows how it
retained its earnings outlook for 2014, despite seeing
softening in demand in some regions during Q3 2013.
Swiss energy storage company Alevo said that it will
construct a gigawatt-scale lithium-iron-phosphate cathode
manufacturing plant in North Carolina to for utilities in
China, Turkey and US.
Japan’s Sumitomo Corp. has
commenced test production of rare earths in Kazakhstan, in a
joint venture (JV) partnership with the country’s
national atomic energy company, Kazatomprom.
And finally, Mongolia signed a series
of agreements with neighbouring nations to increase investment
in its infrastructure in order to boost fluorspar
production over the next few years.
