China’s rare earths industry moves towards further consolidation and recycling

Beijing’s recent discussion of rare earths industry consolidation plans and pressure to develop waste recycling indicate the country’s commitment to restructure its domestic market and eradicate smuggling and oversupply.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced it is discussing consolidation plans received by three rare earths producers.
