SQM point to bearish iodine, potash, prices in Q3 results as EBITDA tanks

The lower sales volume recorded in the company’s iodine and potash segments have clearly taken their toll on SQM. Throughout the earnings release the company emphasises its commitment to reducing costs, adding that it believes these efforts will be reflected in its 2015 results.

Leading Chilean lithium producer SQM today reported Q3 2014 results which highlighted its highest EBITDA* margin on record, but saw earnings and revenue slide on the back of iodine and potash pricing pressure.
