India’s Dhamra Port expansion progresses

The news that the east coast dry bulk port has received government land purchase approval for expansion means that it can ship more limestone out of the area. The expansion is expected to be complete in line with a forecast rise in demand for the mineral, which is used as a cement feedstock.

India’s Dhamra port has received government approval to acquire land to expand the facility’s cargo handling capacity four-fold.

The phase-two expansion would add 11 berths to the existing two berths and raise capacity to 100m tpa from 25m tpa.  Presently, the east coast port can import 12m tpa...
