Former Kenyan politician urges diatomite development

Kenya has been extracting diatomite since 1947. The mineral, which has filter and abrasive applications, is ready to be exploited in the Central Province of Kenya, away from the traditional Western Region production centre, according to former local MP, George Nyanja.
