Rare earth discovery thought to be biggest in Peru

US-headquartered RioSol say that independent analysis of the deposit north of Cusco suggest the claim could be the largest in the country, but the attractiveness of a new rich source of the minerals in the Americas is likely to be outweighed by low prices and weak demand.

US-based RioSol SAC has announced that its Peruvian operating arm, Compania Minera Rio Sol SAC, has discovered a significant rare earth deposit as part of a wider poly-metallic discovery, located approximately 95km northwest of Cusco, Peru.
