Final payment in Holcim-Cemex deal cements European consolidation

Holcim has completed a series of consolidative transactions for its European business arms with Cemex. By focusing on their respective key markets, both companies will hope to increase construction demand and the consumption of construction minerals.
Swiss construction minerals and aggregates
company Holcim Ltd has received the final tranche of payments
totalling European euro (€)45m ($53.6m*) from Mexico-based
rival Cemex SAB de CV for the transaction of various
assets.
Holcim has acquired Cemex’s western Germany and
Netherlands-based operations, while Cemex has taken on
