US West Coast port bottlenecks delay shipments of perlite and diatomite for EP Minerals

Protracted industrial action by the ILWU is forcing EP Minerals to stockpile its perlite and diatomite output, an ill-timed logistics bottleneck for the company, which has reported that it is receiving record demand for its products.
Nevada, US-based EP Minerals LLC is being
forced to stockpile around 109 tonnes/day diatomaceous earth
(diatomite) and perlite due to congestion and industrial action
campaigns in West Coast ports.
Diatomite is mainly used as a filler and filter mineral,
while perlite is mostly consumed in the filling and
horticulture industries....
