Mining Indaba '15: Bad management has deepened the mining crisis

Poor planning and execution have added to the woes of mining companies and explorers already battling with low mineral prices and slack demand - a trend that is also hurting the services sector and eroding investor trust.

Speaking in a session about improving practices in the mining industry through innovation and thought leadership, Anthony Pursey, director of consulting firm Partners in Performance, said that millions of dollars had been wasted and value destroyed after projects were commenced without proper strategies in place.
