PDAC 2015: Rising frac sand demand per well will shield proppants companies from oil price falls

Victory Silica and other proppants suppliers will not suffer as much as the wider industry seems to expect, IM heard at PDAC. The company says that rising consumption on a per well basis, as well as a stronger long term oil price outlook are under-appreciated.

Silica (frac) sand demand is not likely to suffer as much as much many in the industry seem to fear, Laird Tomalty, deputy project director at Victory Silica, told IM at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2015 conference in Toronto, Canada today.
