Triton secures $2bn offtake with China’s Yichang Xincheng Graphite Co.

Analysts have questioned the size of the deal and the minimum $1,000/tonne sale price, but Triton insists that its Chinese buyer is prepared to pay a premium for long-term supply of quality material and that it is confident in the expansion prospects of its new customer.

Triton Minerals Ltd has signed a binding offtake agreement to supply China’s Yichang Xincheng Graphite Co. with 100,000 tpa graphite from deposits in Mozambique, Madagascar, Tanzania and Malawi for a period of 20 years.
