Glass growth: Industry welcomes EESC policy recommendations

Tough economic conditions have plagued the glass industry over the past few years, leading to a significant decrease in production. It is hoped that new EU-wide policies will drive the market forward, saving jobs and providing demand for glass minerals such as soda ash, silica sand and feldspar.

After weathering years of harsh economic conditions, the glass industry this week had reason to celebrate when the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) issued a series of recommendations aimed at boosting the industry’s performance.
