Proppants exempt from sales taxes in Arkansas

The legal dispute between Weatherford and the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration has led to an alteration of state law, which now exempts proppants users from paying sales taxes.

Following a legal dispute that has rumbled on since 2011, silica (frac) sand and other proppants will be exempt from sales taxes in Arkansas, US, from 1 July this year.
