Iofina 2014 loss widens, company to revive expansion plans

The US-based iodine producer has been hit by lower iodine prices and impairment charges in the last year, however it continues to ramp up production and said it will seek new production opportunities, despite earlier suggestions that it would focus on optimisation and profits.

Iodine chemicals specialists Iofina Plc has reported a loss of $6.65m for the full year 2014, down 78% on its 2013 loss of $3.744m.

The fall in earnings came despite record revenues for the US-based company, which brought in $25.85m...
