CRU opens third Texas frac sand transloading facility

Although logistics companies and silica sand producers have conceded that current market conditions do not warrant additional capacity for frac sand in the wake of plummeting oil prices, some developments are continuing at a slower or scaled back pace in anticipation of a market turnaround in 2016.

Texas, US-headquartered silica (frac) sand operations company, CRU Logistics, has opened its third sand transloading facility in South Texas.

Located within 50 miles (80km) of four out of six of the Eagle Ford’s most productive countries, the facility at Alamo Junction Rail Park in Elmendorf will enable CRU to strengthen...
