PPG to purchase IVC Industrial Coatings to strengthen supply to China

Pittsburgh-headquartered PPG plans to purchase the coatings producer later this year, which will strengthen its presence in the Asian market via IVC’s Chinese and Malaysian operations. With growing coating and pigment demand in China, producers are looking to capitalise on the need for additional supply as demand in other regions fails to pick up.

Pittsburgh, US-headquartered PPG Industries has reached an agreement to purchase liquid and powder coatings producer IVC Industrial Coatings for an undisclosed amount in the third quarter of 2015.
