MGX Minerals acquires Californian magnesite deposit and plans first wallboard plant

The Canadian company has found a new exploration opportunity by expanding its operations into the US with the acquisition of the Needles magnesite deposit in California. MGX plans to explore the site to enable it to supply magnesium oxide wallboard to nearby areas. However, Driftwood still remains its flagship project.

MGX Minerals Inc. has acquired the Needles magnesite deposit located in San Bernardino County, California, and plans to build the US’ first magnesium oxide (MgO) wallboard production plant at the site.

Needles has been explored intermittently since the 1930s, according to the company.
