OCI Resources rumoured to be preparing sale of soda ash business

The US chemicals producer which produces soda ash from natural trona ore in Wyoming is reported to be considering the sale of its 51% stake in the $1bn OCI Wyoming operation, which could see it follow FMC Corp. out of the market for producing the glass and detergents mineral.

OCI Resources LP has reportedly engaged banking firm Citigroup Inc. to look at options for selling its controlling stake in the $1bn OCI Wyoming soda ash operation in the US, Bloomberg has reported.
