AkzoNobel to expand Texas performance coatings research facility

The Dutch coatings manufacturer is looking to expand its coatings performance with a €3m investment in its Houston facility, featuring laboratories for experimental paint making and modern paint application.

Paints and coatings specialist AkzoNobel plans to invest around €3m ($3.4m*) in the expansion of its US research and development facilities in Houston, Texas.

The investment is being made under the Dutch company’s performance coatings umbrella and will support its protective coatings, marine coatings and speciality coatings businesses.
