Orbite partners with Canadian research council on HPA benchmarking in Li-ion batteries

The company is seeking to address supply issues in high-end markets by linking up with Canada’s research council to develop its high purity alumina for use in lithium-ion battery separators.

TSX-listed Orbite Technologies has announced that the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) will evaluate its high purity alumina (HPA) for use in lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery separators.

Under the partnership, Orbite’s technology development centre will work with NRC experts to develop composite separator formulations containing Orbite’s HPA.
