China’s amorphous graphite industry faces demand side pressure

Slow end market growth and sluggish demand from steel sees amorphous graphite sales slump; exports to Europe drop by a third.

Low consumption rates in major end markets have seen year-on-year (y-o-y) exports of amorphous graphite from China fall for a second consecutive quarter in Q2 2015, as weak demand continued to stifle the country’s attempts to clear excess supplies.
