Rolls Royce’s MTU enters into partnership with Li-ion battery producer AKASOL

The partnership is a further step towards the mass uptake of Li-ion technology in the transportation sector, and its use in hybrid technology.

Germany’s AKASOL GmbH, a manufacturer of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery systems for high performance applications, has agreed a formal partnership with Rolls Royce subsidiary, MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, which makes large diesel engines and complete propulsion systems.
