Sheffield’s Thunderbird confirmed as significant zircon deposit

The company has announced updated mineral resource figures for the heavy mineral sands project in Western Australia, tripling measured resource. Measured zircon and ilmenite grades were notably high.

ASX-listed Sheffield Resources Ltd has reported an updated mineral resource of 3.24bn tonnes at 6.9% heavy minerals (HM) at its flagship Thunderbird project, located on the Dampier Peninsula, 60km west of Derby in Western Australia (WA).
