Tata Chemicals post 13% drop in profit despite strong sales figures

Results published by the Mumbai-based soda ash producer reveal that net profit fell year-on-year as costs ate into sales gains.

India-based Tata Chemicals Ltd posted a 13% fall in net profit to Indian rupee (INR) 153 crore ($24m*) for the three months ended 30 June. Overall sales revenue, however, climbed 5% to INR 4,057 crore ($635m) for the period.
