Kenya Fluorspar cuts production forecast by 19% due to weak demand

Kenya’s sole fluorspar producer has suffered the fate of many mining companies in being forced to cut its output due to a sluggish commodity market. As a consequence, Kenya Fluorspar does not expect a buoyant fourth quarter and said that prices for the mineral remain weak.
Kenya Fluorspar Co. Ltd has reduced its
annual production forecast by 19% after weak demand forced it
to stop output at its plant in Kimwarer, western Kenya, for six
weeks.

produce 77,000 tonnes fluorspar in 2015, compared with a prior
