LWP fly ash proppant pilot plant delayed

LWP, which is in the process of developing a proppant based on fly ash for use in hydraulic fracturing, is experiencing delays at its pilot plant in Australia owing to an installation error by the kiln manufacturer. The company however anticipates that its pilot plant will be in production by the end of September.

Commissioning progress at LWP Technologies Ltd’s pilot-scale fly ash proppant manufacturing plant in Queensland, Australia, is to be delayed by three weeks as the company’s sintering kiln will need to undergo refractory re-lining.
