BASF faces litigation “Pandora’s Box” in relation to talc-asbestos claims

The global chemicals group is the latest high profile company to face legal action over claims its talc products allegedly contained cancer-causing asbestos.

Global chemicals company BASF is fighting claims concerning asbestos injury suits brought decades ago against Engelhard Corp., a company BASF acquired in 2006, relating to Engelhard’s talc mining operations that ended in 1983.
