Net profit for Chinese NdFeB producers rises

The lower rare earth feedstock prices and increased overseas demand that have followed the abolition of export quotas are likely to be the impetus behind a collective increase in magnet industry net profit in China.

Chinese sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnet companies in China saw their net profit rise by 29% year-on-year (y-o-y) for H1 2015, to Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 460m ($72.1m*).

Turnover remained largely the same, up by 1.3% y-o-y to Rmb 3.05bn ($478.4m), as sales increased but prices dropped. The NdFeB...
