Cheap Chinese fluorochemicals weigh on international market

End market update: Overcapacity in the domestic downstream industry has pushed Chinese fluorochemical producers towards export markets, where they are dumping low-priced material amid sluggish demand.

An increase in shipments of hydrofluoric (HF) acid and aluminium fluoride (AlF3) from China illustrate the country's growing dominance in the fluorochemicals sector, as a result of the Chinese government's efforts to encourage downstream expansion in the fluorspar industry.
