ANC calls for mining rule change to prevent resources leaving South Africa

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress has recently supported plans to separate legislation relating to the oil and gas industry from its mining law. Following hot on the heels of this announcement, the ANC in the province of KwaZulu-Natal are now calling on the government to stop raw materials leaving South Africa to help create local jobs.

The African National Congress (ANC) in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal wants mining laws to change to force companies extracting minerals to start up manufacturing plants in the country to create jobs and beef up the economy.
