UK shadow energy secretary urges fracking “realism”

The UK peer’s intervention calling for the acceptance of fracking in environmentalist groups may reposition the debate owing to her climate change campaigning and activist past.

Bryony Worthington, Baroness Worthington, the UK’s shadow energy secretary and former Friends of the Earth (FOTE) activist, has called upon anti-fracking campaigners to be "realistic" over the potential environmental benefits of fracking, suggesting that its utilisation could result in lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than by importing liquefied natural gas (LNG)....
