Yara arrests Sokli phosphate mine development

Tight-lipped about the specifics of why the Sokli phosphate project has been mothballed, Yara said that future development at the site has not been ruled out.

Norwegian nitrogen and phosphorus-based fertiliser producer Yara International ASA has elected to suspend the development of the Sokli phosphate mining project in Finland.

Yara said the project had been halted owing to the "anticipated profitability of the project being below [its] requirement".
