Sika dismisses COMCO approval as irrelevant in Saint-Gobain takeover saga

The Swiss Competition Commission has authorised Saint-Gobain to proceed with its proposed merger with Sika. However, the Swiss chemicals company said that the decision was expected and does not impact the key area of dispute in the long-running conflict, pertaining only to market competition.

The takeover of Swiss chemicals company Sika AG by Saint-Gobain SA has been granted approval by the Swiss Competition Commission (COMCO) in a decision Sika has labelled irrelevant to the dispute.
