Strong US dollar drives OCP profits up by two thirds

Favourable foreign exchange conditions combined with increased sales in some regions saw the world’s largest phosphate exporter’s net profit figure surge by 66%.

Morocco-based Office Cherifien de Phosphate (OCP), reported a 66% increase in profit for the first half of 2015.

Net profit reached Moroccan dirham (Dh) 3.997bn ($412m*) on the back of a strong US dollar coupled with increased output during the January to June period.
