SQM to halt mining operations at Pedro de Valdivia facility

The Chilean lithium, potash and iodine miner will stop producing nitrates at its Pedro de Valdivia facility in Maria Elena, north of Chile, as part of a restructuring plan implemented 18 months ago.

Chilean miner Sociedad de Quimica y Minera SA (SQM) is to partially close mining operations at its Pedro de Valdivia facility, which produces iodine and nitrates and is located in north Chile, as part of cost-cutting measures.
