IMO warns on bauxite cargo dangers

The International Maritime Organisation has issued guidelines to help ship masters avoid carrying liquefying bauxite cargoes, following the loss of a bulk carrier and 18 lives last year.

The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has issued guidelines to avoid the liquefaction of bauxite onboard dry bulk carriers.

The warning comes after 18 people died when the Bulk Jupiter vessel sank late last year....
