MRC’s workers strike over employment conditions at Tormin

The Australian mineral sands producer has faced a series of setbacks in the last few months, including slow demand, disputes over the quality of its products and low production levels. The company is now facing industrial action at its South African Tormin mine, located 400km north of Cape Town.

Workers at Mineral Commodities Ltd (MRC)’s Tormin mine, in South Africa which produces ilmenite, zircon and rutile, are striking over wages and working hours.
