Mineral consumption in Chinese rubber industry balloons

The rubber industry is expanding in China, resulting in extra demand for key industrial minerals including talc and calcium carbonate.
Rubber consumption in China increased by
20.5% between 2012 and 2014, to 8.8m tonnes, delegates
attending the annual meeting of the China Non-Metallic Minerals
Industry Association (CNMIA) in Xi’an, Shaanxi,
were told last week.
