New CSIRO technology launched for mineral exploration

Industrial mineral explorers are set to benefit from a new technology unveiled by CSIRO, which enables companies to access real time information about the mineralogy and chemistry of their drill holes.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is set to commercialise a new technology called Lab-at-Rig which enables the fast, automated analysis of rock materials directly from drill sites.

According to the organisation, the innovation will open the way for millions of dollars’ worth of potential cost and time savings....
