Iofina narrows half-year loss, revenues hit by low iodine prices

Worldwide demand for iodine continued to grow in 2015. However, oversupply has lowered prices, impacting on Iofina’s half-year revenues. Despite the challenging environment, the US-based company has managed to narrow its losses and produce record levels of crystalline iodine.

Iodine chemicals producer Iofina Plc narrowed its losses in the first half of 2015, supported by consolidation of its iodine operations in Oklahoma and improved efficiencies, but said revenue growth was held back by low iodine prices.

The UK AIM-listed company posted a pre-tax loss of $467,481 for the six months...
