Nanotechnology in the TiO2 industry, often said to be “right around the corner”, really is approaching mass acceptance and usage in consumer and industry applications, delegates attending the TiO2 World Summit 2015 conference, were told.

Nanotechnology in the titanium dioxide (TiO­2) industry and its applicability to "real life" uses, rather than theoretical problems, has been a focal point for the sector for a number of years now.

Applications under consideration include self-cleaning, hydrophobic pigment materials and photocatalytically active pigment surfaces, which are able to break down...
