Blastrite court application against MRC dismissed by South African High Court

MRC said it was “very pleased with the outcome” as Blastrite will now need to pay legal costs associated with the case – a turn of fortune for the mineral sands miner which has this year faced a striking workforce over conditions at Tormin, local opposition, and a breakdown in its Wogen relationship.

A court application by South African industrial minerals producer, Blastrite Proprietary Ltd, against Mineral Commodities Ltd (MRC) has been dismissed by the High Court of South Africa.

The dismissal follows a hearing in February 2014, a further hearing of evidence in June 2014, and Bastrite’s withdrawal of its initial application...
