AkzoNobel Q3 results buoyed by favourable currency effects

Netherlands-based AkzoNobel saw earnings and revenue increase due to positive currency effects in the third quarter. However, the company expects these effects to moderate in Q4 and overall volumes for its products – which consume raw materials such as TiO2 – were down in the third quarter.
Paints and coatings manufacturer AkzoNobel saw its financial
performance improve in the third quarter of 2015 as a result of
process optimisation, lower costs and favourable currency
developments, the company said today.
