The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) political party is calling on all mining companies based in South Africa to respond to its demands, which include an increase in wages and the nationalisation of some operations. The party’s supporters have threatened to target individual mines and close their operations if they do not comply with their demands.
South Africa’s socialist
political party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has written
to the country’s Chamber of Mines to call for the
nationalisation of South Africa’s mines without
compensation, stating that the state should own and control a
minimum of 60% of the country’s mines.
