Luxfer sues Molycorp subsidiaries over rare earth imports to UK

Luxfer, a manufacturer and supplier of high-performance materials and gas cylinders, claims that its subsidiary’s patent is being infringed by two companies owned by Molycorp, which until recently was one of only two non-Chinese rare earth miners.

UK-based Luxfer Holdings Plc has initiated, legal proceedings against two branches of US rare earths producer Molycorp Inc. for alleged infringement of patent.

The case is being brought by Luxfer’s subsidiary, Magnesium Electron Ltd at the patents court at the High Court of Justice in London against Molycorp Chemicals & Oxides...
