China Northern to raise prices for Pr-Nd as MIIT announces fresh assault on illegal mining

The Ganzhou Rare Earth Association and China Northern have announced some of the first price rises in the rare earths industry since the summer, after a torrid year of near-continuous pricing declines. Meanwhile, the MIIT has announced a renewed focus on eradicating illegal mining capacity.

Co. Ltd announced last week that it intends to raise its
guidance prices for praseodymium-neodymium (didymium)
concentrate material by Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 10,000/tonne
($1,575/tonne*), up 4% on previous price levels.
