Tronox reports Q3 net loss as TiO2 price declines offset higher volumes

While y-o-y volumes in its TiO2 business have seen a slight improvement, pigment prices have continued to fall resulting in a net loss. On a sequential basis, the segment continued to deteriorate as revenue, prices and volumes all experienced a decline.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer Tronox Ltd has reported an increase in Q3 2015 revenue to $575m compared with $429m in 2014.

However, despite the increase in sales, the company reported net loss of $60m, compared with net loss of $93m in Q3 2014 as an increase in year-on-year (y-o-y) volumes...
