Natural Resource Partners’ industrial minerals Q3 earnings offset by weak oil and gas segments

The Texas, US-based partnership reported encouraging results in its soda ash and aggregates interests. But these were more than offset by the continuing weakness of the markets for coal, oil and gas and a number of consequent impairments by the company in its related segments.

Natural Resource Partners LP reported a net loss of $586m for the third quarter of 2015, down from $35.5 million this time last year as its coal, oil and gas businesses continued to struggle amid difficult market conditions.
